Braille Event at Sculpture Garden

On May 15th, 2005 a group of visually impaired people from The Braille Institute of Orange County came to The Nancy Doran Sculpture Garden on the campus of the University of California Irvine, and for the first time in many of their lives, experienced a visual art. Unlike a museum, they were encouraged to touch the marble statues, and as Nancy Doran gave them a docent tour, share their feelings about what their fingertips were allowing them to see.
